Shorter development time with 3D Printer!

While developing parts for the Volvo 240 1UZ V8 swap kit, it was found that prototyping from steel/stainless steel is very time intensive and costly.

Small runs are never favorable in terms of price, of course, but a delivery time of several weeks for a prototype that may not be perfect until the 3rd time causes a lot of delay. For this reason, LucaCarMods has recently introduced a 3D printer that solves this problem.

With the 3D Printer, it is possible to print prototypes of products in 5-12 hours instead of 2-3 weeks. Changes are thus made quickly in a CAD program and a modified design can be printed again easily and quickly. In doing so, the 3D printing of various items is also a very fun process to watch. (The first 10 minutes, after that it’s like watching grass grow…)

The purchase of the 3D printer has given me a good taste and other products will soon follow for the Volvo 240/740/940 and Mazda MX-5.
