Volvo S60 2.5T 2007 3 inch exhaust system

The 2.5T engine is a 5-cylinder Volvo engine that produces the very familiar “5-cylinder roar” when driving sportily. The original Volvo S60 exhaust is quite quiet so you can’t fully enjoy the rumble….

The Volvo S60 2.5T owner’s wish was a sporty sound throughout the rev range, more engine power and, of course, a nice custom exhaust system.

More engine power with 3-inch downpipe and exhaust system

Most gasoline Volvo turbocharged engines respond very positively to a larger downpipe and exhaust system. For example, the Volvo V70 T6 engine; an upgrade to a 3.5-inch downpipe is known to increase engine power by as much as 15hp.

A larger downpipe provides better flow after the turbocharger, allowing it to spool up faster and harder. By removing the original catalytic converter and fitting the new downpipe with a 200 cell catalytic converter (also called a racing cat), the flow is even better.

We provide almost all custom exhausts with a V-Band coupling instead of a screw flange. The reason for this is that a V-Band clutch is very easy to install and also does not require a gasket. This ensures that leaks do not occur even after a long time.

Optically beautiful exhaust system

The other common desire is for the exhaust system to look a lot sportier than the original exhaust.

The original exhaust was replaced with 3-inch stainless steel exhaust system from the turbo. This ensures a long-lasting nice-looking exhaust.

To give the 5 cylinder roar a little more punch, only 1 Simons 3-inch muffler was chosen. As a result, the car sounds very sporty but there is no annoying thump in the car at part load while cruising.
