Description
The later 1.8 engines (NB1/NB2) come with both a crankshaft and camshaft sensor. This is used to give the most accurate position of the engine at all points, however, the standard setup comes with a 4-point trigger wheel – which, although in an OEM capacity works very well, when using aftermarket ECUs does not always work as well.
With a 36-2 wheel, we have even finer control of the engine and information about its position. As a result, the car starts faster, responds faster to changes in load and has much better timing control and resolution at any speed. In VVT engines with this type of steering wheel, much better control of the VVT solenoid and its position is possible.
A highly recommended upgrade for any car with forced induction.
Compatible with LNC 1.6 engines and all 1.8 engines with all Megasquirt ECUs and Motorsport Electronics ME221/442 Gen2 ECUs. When installed, the missing teeth should be oriented to the left of TDC (counterclockwise from TDC).
Direct bolt-on upgrade for standard harmonic dampers currently equipped with a 4-tooth trigger wheel and Fluidampr’s. Not compatible with ATI SuperDampers.
