An intercooler cools the air compressed by a turbo or supercharger. Lower intake temperatures help to maintain more consistent power and reduce knock sensitivity.

Pay attention to core size, end tanks, connection diameter, airflow, and fit behind the bumper or front end. Too large is not always better if it causes the turbo to respond sluggishly or if the airflow is poor.
