More about Thermostats

A thermostat regulates when coolant flows through the radiator. A malfunctioning thermostat can lead to excessively high temperatures or an engine that doesn't reach its optimal operating temperature.

Pay attention to the opening temperature, fit, and whether the thermostat is intended for standard use or a modified cooling setup. A lower opening temperature does not solve every cooling problem.

When facing cooling problems, always start with the basics: radiator, cap, hoses, water pump, and air in the system.
