The bracket is designed to be used in conjunction with ASS Gearbox mount BMW ZF 5-speed Volvo 240 and ASS Gearbox beam BMW ZF 6-speed Volvo 740/940 (new generation). However, it also works well as a standalone unit in other car bodies if you construct your own gearbox beam.

This is a large gearbox, and it's usually necessary to remove some reinforcing ribs that protrude from the gearbox and also gently tap the gearbox tunnel at a couple of points to create space. There is slightly less space in the Volvo 240 compared to the 740/940.

For the Volvo 240, in some cases, the gearbox may end up too far back due to its length and the use of a thick adapter plate against the engine. In such instances, it will also not align with the gearbox beam, which lacks attachment points that far back. An example where it doesn't fit with a 240 gearbox beam is with an LS V8 engine and a 25mm spacer plate.
