This Volvo 740 940 upgrade intercooler is the best plug & play intercooler on the market!
You'd think the Volvo 740 and 940 already come with a fairly large intercooler, but there's still considerable room for improvement in the core (the actual cooling part). The DO88 intercooler for the 740 and 940 has a core that's a whopping 65% larger than the original! Even better, this intercooler is plug-and-play, so you don't have to rebuild half the car.
Full aluminum
This DO88 intercooler for the Volvo 740 and 940 is made entirely of aluminum, allowing it to handle very high turbo pressure. The original intercooler has only an aluminum core and plastic end tanks, which, as you might imagine, has a much greater risk of cracking.
Inlet temperature up to 21 degrees Celsius cooler!
Lowering the intake temperature is the main function of an intercooler. This ensures efficient combustion and maximizes the power output of the Volvo B230 engine.
To compare the efficiency of the original and do88 intercoolers, a test was conducted, which showed that the do88 intercooler cooled the air by a whopping 21 degrees more!
Original: 49 degrees Celsius

The OEM intercooler rubber supports in the top brackets needs to be trimmed slightly
because of the increased thickness.
There are no predrilled holes for the AC condenser, these holes need to be drilled (easy to do).
