If the side panel of your MX-5 is starting to rust at the bottom or has advanced rust, there is a very high chance that the underlying part of the sill is also rusted. In case of light rust, we recommend cleaning the underlying part of the sill (removing rust) and treating it with a rust converter such as Dinitrol RC900.
However, the sheet metal often becomes very thin, and then it is advisable to order this sill repair panel and weld it in (partially).
