Mazda MX-5 NA/NB 1UZ / 3UZ V8 Engine Swap Kit V2
Do you want to install a Toyota 1UZ or 3UZ V8 engine in a Mazda MX-5 NA or NB? This Cybul Engine Swap Kit V2 provides a strong mechanical foundation for a V8 swap in the compact MX-5 chassis.
A 1UZ or 3UZ swap in an MX-5 normally requires a lot of custom work on the engine position, oil pan, subframe, engine mounts, and exhaust clearance. This V2 kit takes a lot of that work off your hands. The set includes, among other things, a modified oil pan, matching oil pickup, modified dipstick, engine mounts, heat shields, and a chromoly tubular front subframe.
Compared to the V1 kit, the V2 version is more extensive because the tubular subframe is included. This creates more space for the oil pan and eliminates the need to modify the original subframe for oil pan clearance. In addition, the tubular subframe provides extra rigidity and better integration of the Toyota UZ V8 into the MX-5 NA/NB chassis.
This kit is especially interesting for street, drift, track day, and performance builds where a strong V8 base is desired, but where you want to put together the rest of the swap yourself as desired. This includes the choice of gearbox, clutch, driveshaft, cooling system, exhaust, ECU, wiring harness, and tuning.
This is not a complete plug-and-play package. The V2 kit provides a comprehensive mechanical base, but components such as the engine, gearbox, clutch, driveshaft, cooling, wiring, ECU configuration, and the exhaust system after the manifold side still need to be assembled to match the chosen setup.
