Mazda MX-5 NA/NB 1UZ / 3UZ V8 Engine Swap Kit V1
Do you want to install a Toyota 1UZ or 3UZ V8 engine in a Mazda MX-5 NA or NB and want to maintain as much freedom as possible in the further build? This Cybul Engine Swap Kit V1 forms the simplest and most budget-friendly basis for a V8 swap in the compact MX-5 chassis.
A 1UZ or 3UZ swap into an MX-5 normally requires a lot of custom work on the engine position, oil pan, engine mounts, and exhaust clearance. This V1 kit provides the essential parts to correctly position the Toyota UZ V8, while allowing the builder more room for their own fabrication and project-specific choices.
The set includes a modified oil pan, matching oil pickup, modified dipstick, engine mount brackets, heavy-duty engine mounts, and heat shields. This makes the V1 a good basis for experienced builders who want to perform a 1UZ / 3UZ swap but do not immediately need the more extensive V2 or V3 kit.
Compared to the V2 and V3 variants, this is the most basic version. The tubular front subframe, the skid plate, and the custom exhaust manifolds are not included. With the V1 kit, the original subframe must be modified to create sufficient space for the oil pan.
This is not a complete plug-and-play package. Parts such as the engine, gearbox, clutch, driveshaft, cooling system, exhaust system, ECU, wiring harness, and tuning still need to be assembled to match the chosen setup. The V1 kit is therefore particularly interesting for experienced builders who want an affordable start for a Toyota V8 swap and want to carry out some of the custom work themselves.
