When installing a turbocharger or supercharger, it is important to pay close attention to the ignition. As power increases, so do the heat and pressure in the cylinder. Switching to a spark plug that is 'one step colder' reduces the heat on the spark plug's surface, a potential hotspot for detonation.
The standard spark plugs are BRK6E-11. In NGK's classification, a higher number means a colder spark plug. Switching to BRK7E is recommended for turbocharging and ensures optimal performance.
