Volvo 740/940 Wasted Spark Coil Bracket

Many Volvo 740 and 940 owners upgrade their ignition from a simple rotor and distributor to a wasted spark setup.

These are often mounted with a large plate on top of the valve cover. A cover plate must also be mounted at the back of the engine block near the camshaft to hold the camshaft plug in place (this is mainly applicable with large turbos and/or high crankcase pressure).

To hold the camshaft plug in place, we offer stainless steel cover plates in our range. Our 'Volvo 740/940 Wasted Spark Coil Bracket' provides a better location for the coil at the back of the engine block and simultaneously ensures that the camshaft plug stays in place. Two birds with one stone!

Suitable for the following two types of coils:

• ERA 880003 - OEM 030 905 106 — VW
• ERA 880109A - OEM 048 905 105 1 — VW

• 2x Longer M6 Studs for the valve cover
• 2x M6 Flange Nut
• 2x M6 Flange Bolt

Fits:

• Volvo 740
• Volvo 940

Volvo 240 has not yet been tested, but this plate will likely come up against the flanged edge of the bulkhead.

Installation:

1. Remove the two rear studs from the valve cover.
2. Install the longer M6 studs.
3. Place the Volvo 740/940 Wasted Spark Coil Bracket.
4. Tighten the nuts on top so that the bolts at the back of the engine block can be inserted.
5. Slightly loosen the nuts again.
6. Everything can now be gradually tightened so that the valve cover is properly pressed and the plate sits tightly against the engine.
